FAQ
“Can't you just dip it?”
A common misconception regarding chrome plating is that you can take any piece of rusted metal and “dip it” in a chrome tank to achieve radiant jewelry-like results. However, nothing can be further from the truth. What most people don't realize is that the chrome plated finish is only as good as the pre-polished metal material prior to plating. In general, the more polishing…. the better the result. Furthermore, plating is not just delegated to one chrome tank. Instead, the plating line consists of several tanks including cleaners, rinses, nickel tanks, etc. (Please see the polishing and chrome plating sections for more information.)
“When can I have it?”
Despite our unrivaled and unmatched chrome plating and powder coating lead times, several factors play a role in determining the turnover rate of any given fabrication project. From small jobs to large production runs, engineering, tooling, or even the availability of raw material are some issues used to determine how much time is necessary to complete a job. At SPC, we know that quick lead times are critical, which further enhances the importance of being a complete one-stop shop. We control every aspect and phase of fabrication and are dedicated to providing the best service possible while maintaining the desired quality level.
